WHAT IS FBLA?
FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. We are an association of business students learning firsthand how business works and developing our own leadership skills. We are part of the more than 215,000 members of National FBLA. Regardless of the careers we choose, we’ll be the ones leading the way.
GOALS OF FBLA
Develop competent, aggressive business leadership. Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and in their work. Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise. Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community. Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism. Encourage and practice efficient money management. Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty. Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals. Facilitate the transition from school to work.
WHO CAN JOIN FBLA?
FBLA membership is open to any Martin County High School student with a serious interest in business and who wants to be successful. Since FBLA is extracurricular, students are encouraged to enroll in Business Career and Technology classes.
WHAT DOES FBLA DO?
FBLA members are involved in many fun and interesting activities that help to develop our understanding of business. These include:
Rush Week: Recruiting membership District Rally: Kick off the school year Beach Cleanup: Go to the Atlantic Ocean-Clean selected sites. Christmas Wall Contest: Homecoming: District Competition State Leadership Conference FBLA Hall of Fame End of the Year Banquet
WHEN AND WHERE DOES FBLA MEET?
Regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month after school at 3:00 p.m.
FBLA Creed
I believe education is the right of every person.
I believe the future depends on mutual understanding and cooperation among business, industry, labor, religious, family and education institutions, as well as people around the world. I agree to do my utmost to bring about understanding and cooperation among all of these groups.
I believe every person should prepare for a useful occupation and carry on that occupation in a manner that brings the greatest good to the greatest number.
WE believe every person should actively work toward improving social, political, community and family life.
I believe every person has the right to earn a living at a useful occupation and that this right should not be denied because of race, color, creed, sex, or handicap.
I believe every person should take responsibility for carrying out assigned tasks in a manner that brings credit to self, associates, school and community.
I believe I have the responsibility to work efficiently and to think clearly. I promise to use my abilities to make the world a better place for everyone.

FBLA – PBL DRESS CODE
The purpose of the dress code is to uphold the professional image of the association and to prepare students for the business world. Appropriate attire is required for all attendees, advisers, members, and guests – at all general sessions, competitive events, meetings, workshops, and other activities unless otherwise stated in the conference program. FBLA-PBL members should develop an awareness of the image one’s appearance projects.
MALES Business suite with collared dress shirt and necktie; or Sport coat, dress slacks, collared dress shirt, and necktie; or Dress slacks, collard dress shirt, and necktie. Dress shoes and socks are required. A banded collar shirt may be worn only if a sport coat or business suite is worn.
FEMALES Business suite with blouse; or Business pantsuit with blouse; or Business dress; or Skirt or dress slacks with blouse or sweater Dress shoe and nylons are required
MALES AND FEMALES No jewelry in visible body piercing, other than ear, on men or women.
INAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE INCLUDES: Denim or chambray fabric clothing of any kind Overalls, shorts, skorts, stretch or stirrup pants, exercise or bike shorts Backless, see-through, tight-fitting, spaghetti straps, strapless, extremely short, or low cut blouse/top/dress/skirts Sandals, athletic shoes, industrial work shoes, hiking boots, bare feet or over-the-knee boots Athletic wear, including sneakers and letterman jackets. Hats or flannel fabric clothing Bolo ties Visible foundation garments. New fashion trends may be in style but not necessarily appropriate. The best way to operate is to avoid walking the line. If there is a doubt, select something else to wear. Be professional!
