What is Air Force Junior ROTC?
The Air Force JROTC curriculum includes Aerospace Science, Leadership Instruction, and Physical Wellness training. Cadets learn leadership and management skills by organizing and directing the FL-937 AFJROTC Cadet Group.
The AFJROTC unit provides leadership, discipline, physical fitness, and a knowledge of military drill and ceremonies. The underlined objective is to help the high school student to become tomorrows citizen. The cadet corps accomplishes its mission through a four year curriculum composed of academic courses, leadership education, and co-curricular activities. Inherent in the mission are the following broad objectives:
- Encourage a high degree of honor, self -reliance, and leadership.
- Promote patriotism.
- Promote habits of orderliness and precision.
- Help cadets develop respect for constituted authority and ones self.
- Help cadets develop the ability to perform basic military skills associated with drill and ceremony.
Enrollment in AFJROTC does not subject the student to any military obligation; instead, it provides certain benefits to students who complete the Aerospace Science and Leadership Education.
