Welcome to the Guidance Department’s information page

Our staff of five counselors, the guidance secretary and the registrar hope to make you aware of all the latest news in our department.  We have information about Registering a New Student or you may find out how to request Records and Transcripts.  You may view the Curriculum Guide or the course program flowcharts.  We have made the School Calendar available to you.  From this page you may access information on the School Testing Calendar.  We also have prepared an information overview regarding all the Standardized Tests given at MCHS and dual enrollment information.  Click here for a link to all dual enrollment eligible courses. If you are looking for Scholarship Information or Financial Aid for postsecondary education, we have it available.

You may view a copy of our school’s Four Year Plan which is prepared individually by each Freshman electronically on their personal ePEP account on www.facts.org.  Taking into account the Graduation Requirements Graduation Requirements for Entering 9th graders (c/o 2013),  the State of Florida’s Graduation Options and our AP Program.  Students are presented with a copy of the Elective Courses available, as well as a College Planning Timeline.  Students also receive information about Bright Futures Scholarships.

Florida has an official online student advising system! High school students, college students, parents, and even counselors can use the services provided on this website to help plan and track educational progress in Florida.   FACTS.org is provided free by the Florida Department of Education to help students make informed choices about their education.  Students can search majors/colleges, check their Bright Futures eligibility, check graduation status, and explore careers based on the student's interests and abilities.

Your student will meet with his or her Guidance Counselor at least once every school year to review his or her progress and plans for the future.  Guidance counselors are also available before/after school and during lunch for students.  Please contact the Guidance Office with any particular concerns.  Guidance Counselors are assigned to students alphabetically by last name.
